RESERVING THE PICNIC SHELTER AT CHENA WAYSIDE

WHAT’S THERE
The 30’ x 60’ picnic shelter is located at the south end of the park.  Besides the picnic shelter and day-use areas, the park has 61 campsites and a boat launch. See the map of the park.
The shelter parking lot can hold up to 35 vehicles, which must be under 20’ long (no trailers or large motorhomes).  There are additional parking spaces in lots to the north.
Drinking water and a wash basin are available at the restroom building, which is 150’ away.
Electricity (for hot tubs, amplifiers, etc.) and a hose bib are available at the shelter—indicate if you need them activated for your event.

WHAT’S REQUIRED
A reservation permit from the company is required for use of the picnic shelter:
·    for exclusive use by any number of people, or
·    by more than 20 people. (groups of up to 20 people can still use the shelter for free without a permit, but must vacate for a permitted event)
A reservation permit entitles you and your guests to exclusive use of the shelter and these adjacent facilities:
·    6 tables which can seat 12-16 people each,
·    a 4’-square firewood/charcoal grill,
·    a 4’-diameter fire ring with 6 benches, and
·    a 2-lane horseshoe area.
The permit does not entitle you or your guests to exclusive use of the volleyball court, swing set, trails, toilets, parking lots, or grass areas.

PERMIT RESERVATION PROCESS
A permit may be issued for use during one or more time blocks during the day:
·    8:00 a.m. – noon;
·    1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.; and

The permit fee must be paid before the reservation will be made:
·    $25 per time block for up to 50 people;
